Employers can claim funding to support a newly qualified social worker (NQSW) through the Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE) programme and apply for ASYE certification.

Your NQSW(s) will need to complete a self-assessment against the child and family post qualifying standards. The assessment form (provided by the employer) will identify learning needs for the year which will inform their professional development plans.

To be able to offer the funding, we work with the Department for Education (DfE).

Access the funding platform

The for registering newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) is open for 2025-26 registrations.

This year’s funding is available for NQSWs who are commencing ASYE between 1 April 2025 – 31 March 2026. The platform for registrations will close at midnight on 31 March 2026.

To register NQSWs on the platform and claim Department for Education funding, the primary contact must first submit their organisation’s 2025-26 action plan which can be located on the platform within the ‘My applications’ section by scrolling to the bottom of the page. The deadline for submitting your action plan is 16 March 2026.

Completions

To claim NQSW’s certificate and a final completion payment, employers must submit a 'Twelve month review form'. The form can be found on the platform by clicking on 'My applications', locating the NQSW’s application, and clicking on the 'Reporting' tab. Once you've saved the form, press the 'submitbutton, otherwise the form will not be submitted for processing.

Submitting deferrals, withdrawals and completions

To report a withdrawal, deferral, or completion to 91勛圖厙, the employer must submit a 'Change of ASYE Status form' for deferrals/withdrawals or a 'Twelve month review form' for successful and unsuccessful completions. These can be located by clicking on the 'Reporting' tab within 'My applications'. The forms must be fully submitted for them to be processed. If your form’s status is showing ‘in progress’, this indicates the form is yet to be submitted by the employer.
